1. Information we collect
NFC Dog Tag stores the pet information you enter (name, photo, allergies, vet info) and the owner's contact details. If a finder allows location sharing, those coordinates are stored on our server together with the time of the scan.
2. How we use information
Collected data is used to show the pet information and contact options to whoever finds the pet, and to let the owner review the scan records. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
3. Data storage
Pet information, photos, owner contact details and scan records are stored encrypted on Supabase servers in Japan (Tokyo). The anonymous user ID used for sign-in and the usage events described in section 6 are stored on Supabase servers in India (Mumbai). A copy of pet information from before the move to Japan on October 8, 2026 remains on the servers in India and is scheduled for deletion. A local cache is also kept on your device for offline access.
4. Location data
The finder page requests browser geolocation only if the finder allows it. That coordinate is stored on our servers as part of the scan record.
5. Notifications
We do not send push notifications, SMS or email to the owner when a tag is scanned. Scans are recorded and can be reviewed in the app's scan history (Pro). Vaccination reminders run entirely on your own device.
6. Analytics
We send anonymous usage events (screens viewed, features used) to our own server to improve app quality. Pet information is never used in analytics.
7. Children
This app is not directed at children under 13.
